Just bring your Intel Mac or any working iPad or iPod into the FirstTech store. Tell the Specialist you would like to have your device evaluated as a trade-in. Our service department will do an extensive analysis to ensure it is in fully operational condition. This process will take up to 24 hours. Please be sure to back up all of your data before bringing us your Mac for evaluation.
Remember to bring all of the machine's original accessories (or a working replacement): power cable, mouse and keyboard for a desktop; a charger for a laptop; and earbuds and the sync cable for an iPad or iPod.
2 Opt-in (or out) of the trade
Your Specialist will let you know the value of your trade-in. Naturally, it is entirely up to you to decide if you wish to accept our offer. Remember, the amount of the trade-in credit reduces the amount of sales tax you have to pay on your new model.
3 Purchase a new Mac
When you have decided on your new Mac, iPad or iPod, your Specialist will apply the amount of your trade-in credit towards your purchase. So you'll save yourself some money and will have helped the environment by putting your old model to good use.

Recycle your PC or unusable Mac for just $20If your old Mac or PC has no value and all you want is to responsibly dispose of it, we can help. FirstTech contracts with MPC (Materials Processing Corporation) who will provide reuse, recycling services. All computers will be reused or recycled after the data has been completely erased; none wind up in a landfill. More information about MPC can be found at: www.mpc-e.com. The $20 fee for the recycling service can be applied toward the purchase of a new Mac.
Recycle Mac batteries free.Bring your old used up Mac batteries to us and we'll recycle them free (leaky or corroded batteries must be in a sealed plastic bag). More information on battery disposal options can be found for Hennepin County at:
